This Privacy Policy explains how Meraxes Global ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Expense Tracker mobile and web application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you use the App:
- Account information: your name and email address, provided during registration or via Google Sign-In.
- Financial transaction data: income and expense records you create, including amounts, categories, currencies, dates, and any notes you add.
- Device information: basic device and usage data for error monitoring and app stability.
We do not collect payment card numbers, bank account details, or any payment credentials.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App and your account.
- Sync your transaction data securely across your devices.
- Send transactional emails (e.g. password reset emails) via Resend.
- Monitor app performance and fix errors.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your financial transaction data for advertising purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:
- Google Sign-In (Google LLC): optional authentication method. If you use Google Sign-In, Google's Privacy Policy applies to that authentication process.
- Resend: used to send transactional emails such as password reset links. Your email address is passed to Resend solely for this purpose.
- Railway: our cloud hosting provider. Your data is stored on Railway's infrastructure and managed Postgres database.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud servers hosted by Railway. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and JWT-based authentication. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data — including your transactions, categories, and account information — is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems. This deletion cannot be undone.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you (available within the App).
- Export your transaction data as a CSV file (available within the App).
- Delete your account and all associated data permanently (available in App settings).
- Contact us with any privacy-related questions or requests.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
9. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Pakistan.
